In addition to his editorial work, Philip has written many articles, essays, book chapters, CD liner notes and programme notes, principally on music and occasionally on poetry, for the most part informed by his academic work. In recent years, he has begun to have the courage to explore some more original scribblings in both prose and poetry.
Philip’s short poetry collection, Fulcrum, was published in a limited fine press edition in 2014. A book length poem, Sonata: violare, col legno was published by Guillemot Press in 2021. A short collection of essays, Landscape, Place, and the Human Arts, is currently in preparation, hopefully for publication in 2026.
